The Fondazione Giorgio Cini was born on April 20, 1951, as a father’s tribute—created by Vittorio Cini in memory of his son, Giorgio. His goal was to breathe new life into the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, home to architectural wonders by greats like Palladio and Longhena.

Today, it stands as a welcoming international hub for culture, research, and world-changing ideas.

For over seventy years, the Foundation has been a bridge between the arts and sciences, hosting countless events that spark dialogue between global experts and the public. Whether exploring the ethics of new technology or debating global philosophy, we’ve always been dedicated to tackling the big challenges of our time. By collaborating with leading minds from Italy and beyond, we continue to create a space where human creativity and scientific discovery go hand in hand.

Experience art in Venice

Italy

Venice is a city where art does not live inside museums only — it floats through palaces, churches, canals, biennials, private collections and contemporary pavilions.

For art lovers, Venice is not just a destination. It is a stage where every façade, bridge, church and canal becomes part of the experience. Avoid rushing Venice. Choose one main art area per day — Dorsoduro, San Marco, Castello, Giudecca — and let the city reveal itself between visits.
