A Grand Canal palazzo where Venice becomes a stage for international contemporary art. ACP Palazzo Franchetti by Fondazione Calarota is not just a historic building — it is one of those places where art feels amplified by architecture, water, and history.
About
ACP Palazzo Franchetti by Fondazione Calarota was founded in 2019 by Franco and Roberta Calarota with the aim of creating bridges between cultures through art. Since then, the foundation has produced and hosted exhibitions in collaboration with institutions and countries in Italy and abroad.
The space is located in Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti, near the Accademia Bridge, one of the most elegant and strategic cultural areas in Venice. Its address is San Marco 2847, 30124 Venice, with the Accademia vaporetto stop nearby.
The result is a very Venetian experience: a historic palazzo, a major art program, and the feeling that the city itself is part of the exhibition.
What you'll see here
At ACP Palazzo Franchetti, you can expect ambitious temporary exhibitions, often connected to modern and contemporary art, architecture, photography, design, and international cultural dialogue.
The program has included projects around artists and figures such as Jean Dubuffet, Graham Sutherland, Kengo Kuma, Lee Miller and Man Ray, and in 2026 current listings include Giosetta Fioroni. The future came out of the past. Images and words, from 5 May to 2 August 2026, and TURANDOT: To the Daughters of the East, a collateral event of the 61st International Art Exhibition — La Biennale di Venezia, from 9 May to 31 October 2026.
Worth the trip
Yes — especially if you want Venice beyond the obvious museum route.
What makes ACP Palazzo Franchetti by Fondazione Calarota special is the contrast: serious contemporary programming inside one of Venice’s most atmospheric historic settings. It is a place where art does not feel isolated from the city. It absorbs Venice — the canal, the architecture, the light, the sense of time.
For Artlovers, this is worth including because it captures what Venice does better than almost anywhere else: turning an exhibition into a journey through history, beauty, and cultural encounter.
