White Cube New York

A London-born contemporary art powerhouse on Madison Avenue. White Cube New York brings the gallery’s sharp, global energy into the Upper East Side — polished, ambitious, and deeply connected to the international art market.
White Cube New York opened in October 2023 at 1002 Madison Avenue, Manhattan. The building dates from 1930 and now houses public gallery spaces and private viewing rooms across three floors.
White Cube itself is one of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries, with spaces in London, Hong Kong, Paris, New York and Seoul. Its New York location places it in one of the city’s most important art corridors, close to major museums, collectors, galleries and the Upper East Side art world.

Worth the trip
Yes — especially if you want to understand New York beyond museums.
What makes White Cube New York special is its position between London gallery history and New York market power. It brings the gallery’s global contemporary programme into a city where collectors, museums, advisors and artists constantly shape what becomes art history.
For Artlovers, it is worth including because it shows the living side of contemporary art: not only where artworks are preserved, but where they are launched, staged, collected, discussed and moved into the future.
ArtLovers Tip
Visit it as part of an Upper East Side art route. Pair White Cube with nearby galleries, The Met, the Guggenheim, or Madison Avenue’s museum-and-market atmosphere. This is New York art at its most polished and powerful.
