Balloon Museum | Pop Air Madrid
A museum where art doesn’t just hang on the wall — it floats, moves, breathes, and invites you inside
Balloon Museum brings inflatable contemporary art to Madrid as a playful, immersive experience for all ages.
Balloon Museum is an international project dedicated to inflatable art, combining contemporary art, large-scale installations, light, sound, movement, and audience participation. Its first exhibition, Pop Air, opened in Rome in 2021 and explored air as a creative material through immersive works inspired by Pop Art and social interaction.

What you’ll see here
Expect a very physical, sensory and photogenic experience: inflatable sculptures, immersive rooms, interactive installations, projections, sound, movement, and artworks designed to be entered, touched, or experienced with the whole body.
Worth the trip
Yes — especially if you want a lighter, more social side of contemporary art in Madrid.
What makes Balloon Museum special is that it breaks the idea that contemporary art must be difficult, distant, or intimidating. It turns art into something you can walk through, share, touch, and feel.
ArtLovers Tip
Don’t treat it only as an Instagram place. Look at how air becomes architecture: the walls, the scale, the movement, and the way your body changes the artwork.
