Inside the exhibition

López de la Serna CAC is delighted to invite you to a new group exhibition that explores how portrait painting is being reimagined for the modern world. Moving beyond simply capturing a person's likeness, these works dive into deeper conversations about who we are, how we see ourselves, and the complex stories that shape our lives today.

The show features a captivating selection of works by Francesco Clemente (b. Naples, 1952), Alex Katz (b. New York, 1927), David Salle (b. Oklahoma, 1952), and Henry Taylor (b. California, 1958).

While each artist uses a different creative approach, they all center on the female figure to explore themes of identity and contemporary culture in unique and personal ways.
