Inside the exhibition
Rafa Macarrón (1981)is one of Spain’s most influential contemporary artists with a truly global reach, he returns after stepping away from the fast-paced international art market. This break allowed him to focus on deep reflection and dedicated time in his studio, honing his unique craft.
Macarrón finds inspiration in the work of Spanish post-war masters like the El Paso group, as well as icons like Jean Dubuffet and Pablo Picasso. Like these greats, he is driven by a love for experimentation and a constant search for new ways to express himself.
In this collection, those influences come together in vibrant, high-energy paintings. While his work plays with thick textures and bold movement, it always remains tender and deeply human, offering us a gentle glimpse into his inner world.
