Closely associated with Pablo Picasso, he revolutionized sculpture by introducing iron as a primary artistic material, using industrial welding techniques to create open, linear forms. His work bridged Cubism and abstraction, emphasizing space, structure, and expressive intensity, and laid the foundations for much of 20th-century sculptural practice.
