A beautiful and intelligent IVAM stop: less spectacle, more ecosystem — an exhibition that asks you to slow down and remember that life also happens beneath the surface.
Exhibition Highlights - What you'll see
Radix imagines a fictional biome: a hybrid world between the scientific and the speculative, the observable and the imagined. It is not presented as a traditional exhibition of objects, but as an immersive installation where nature, technology and fiction coexist.
The installation brings together living plants, blown-glass sculptures, suspended organisms, a root-tron that allows the observation of root growth, audiovisual projections, and an octophonic sound composition that surrounds the space.
This is very Tania Candiani: an artist who works across sound, technology, craft, research, ecology and collective imagination. Here, the root is not only a botanical form. It becomes a system of connection: underground, invisible, alive.
Worth the trip
Because Radix speaks directly to one of the great questions of our time: how do we reconnect with living systems we have stopped listening to?
Candiani does not approach nature as decoration. She creates a sensory environment where plants, machines, glass, sound and image form a fragile ecosystem. The result feels poetic, but also urgent: a way of thinking about ecological intelligence, interdependence, and the invisible structures that sustain life.
For Artlovers, this is worth the trip because it is not just something to look at. It is something to enter, hear, and feel slowly.
How to experience it
Don’t go in expecting a “message” on the wall.
Start with the sound. Then look for the roots, the glass, the suspended forms, the living elements. Let your attention move like a root system: slowly, sideways, underground.
This is an exhibition for people who like art that behaves like a world.
