Luis Pérez Calvo: An Emotional Map of Art in Madrid (2015–2025)

Over the last ten years, Luis Pérez Calvo has been doing much more than just visiting art shows. He has been busy creating over five hundred paintings inspired by the exhibitions he’s explored across Madrid and beyond. Rather than simple records, Luis reimagines his favorites through the vibrant lens of pop culture—bringing together the bold energy of B-movies, circus posters, comic books, and vintage record covers.

In this exhibition, you’ll discover a unique collection of artist "trading cards" alongside a mural painted directly onto our gallery walls. It is an invitation to look back at the last decade of art from a fresh and playful perspective. It’s a wonderful way to revisit the shows you loved or catch up on the hidden gems you might have missed along the way.

Luis isn’t trying to write a textbook or define what counts as "important" art. Instead, he offers a joyful celebration of creativity meant for everyone. His journey takes us from the city's major museums to its smallest independent studios and pop-up spaces, giving us a warm, personal look at the art that brings us all together.
