Romà Vallès - The abstract horizon at Espais Volart in Barcelona, Spain, examines the final stages of the Catalan artist’s career. The exhibition focuses on his shift from the dense, textured Informalist style that defined his early years toward a more stripped-back, contemplative abstraction centered on the concept of the horizon.
The selection features works from his later series, particularly those created from the 1980s onwards. These pieces trade the heavy material and dark palettes of his earlier Cosmogonia period for lighter, more fluid applications of paint. The exhibition gathers large-format canvases where the physical landscape disappears, replaced by bands of color and light that suggest infinite space.
