Can Saura is the current home of the Museu Municipal de Ciutadella, located in the historic centre of Ciutadella, close to the Cathedral, old palaces, narrow streets and other heritage stops. The museum occupies the former noble house of Can Saura, built between the 17th and 18th centuries, giving the visit a strong sense of place before you even start looking at the collection.
The museum moved its visitable section from the historic Bastió de sa Font to Can Saura in 2019, placing Ciutadella’s history in a more central, palace-like setting. It is a municipal museum dedicated to explaining the history, customs and particular identity of Ciutadella through objects, stories and local heritage.
