Seasonal-feeling gallery programme in Maó; check current exhibitions before visiting.

Check the current exhibition before going, then build the visit into a Maó route. The gallery is especially strong when paired with Galería Cayón, the Teatre Principal area, the old town streets and a later visit to Hauser & Wirth Menorca on Isla del Rey.

About

Albarrán Bourdais Menorca is a contemporary art gallery located at Costa de’n Deià, 51, in Maó, Menorca. The gallery opened its Menorca space in a mansion opposite the Teatre Principal de Maó, adding a strong international contemporary-art presence to the island’s cultural map. Albarrán Bourdais is also known for its Madrid gallery and for projects that connect art, architecture and landscape, including the wider Solo Houses and Solo Sculpture Trail ecosystem. In Maó, the gallery presents temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists, often with a strong attention to space, perception, architecture and site. For travellers, Albarrán Bourdais Menorca is a compact but meaningful gallery stop that works especially well as part of a Maó art route with Galería Cayón, the old town and the port. It helps show how Menorca is becoming a destination not only for sea and landscape, but also for contemporary art, collectors, galleries and cultural travel.

Worth the trip

Because Albarrán Bourdais adds another serious contemporary-art layer to Menorca. It brings the gallery’s Madrid and international network into the centre of Maó, close to the island’s growing art route.

Don't miss: The way the contemporary exhibition uses the historic Maó mansion — the building is not just a container, but part of the experience.
