Inside the exhibition

For the first time in the UK, the Design Museum is opening up the Wes Anderson private archives, collected over three decades of storytelling. It’s a rare chance to see these personal treasures, most of which are making their British debut.

This journey takes you from Wes’s first experiments in the 90s right up to his most recent projects and collaborations. Discover the design secrets behind award-winning favorites like ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’, as well as the stop-motion magic of ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ and ‘Isle of Dogs’.

From the soulful charm of ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’ to the playful spirit of ‘Moonrise Kingdom’, you’ll see how a legendary dedication to detail creates such unforgettable worlds. It’s an invitation to explore the heart and craft behind the films we all love.

We’ve gathered over 700 objects to show you exactly how the magic happens. Peek into handwritten notebooks, browse original storyboards and polaroids, and get a close-up look at puppets, miniature models, and dozens of costumes worn by your favorite characters.
