Exhibition Highlights - What you'll see

I Set Out, I Walked Fast

Katharina Grosse (born 1961) has spent her career completely reimagining what painting can be. In her hands, vivid color isn’t just for canvases; it spills across walls, buildings, and even whole landscapes. These bold transformations turn art into an immersive experience that makes you look at the world a little differently. For Grosse, a painting isn’t just an object to look at—it is a shared space where the artist, the location, and the visitor all come together.

I Set Out, I Walked Fast is the first major exhibition in the UK to showcase the full, incredible scale of Grosse’s work. Rather than a traditional timeline of her life, the show offers what she calls a ‘poly-perspectival’ view, inviting you to explore her creative world from many different angles at once.
