Exhibition Highlights - What you'll see
Josep Maria Subirachs (Barcelona, 1927 – 2014) was a sculptor, painter, draughtsman and printmaker. He described himself as a cerebral artist, rejecting inspiration and intuition in favour of reflection. His work is grounded in a highly personal symbolic language shaped by dualities, oppositions and conceptual rigor.
Creating images open to multiple interpretations, Subirachs developed a distinctive iconographic universe in which solitude, eroticism, time and death recur persistently.
This exhibition reviews the connections with other works by the artist and his unprecedented vision, staying true to his style and artistic thought.
