Exhibition Highlights - What you'll see
David Hockney, one of the most beloved artists of our time, invites you to pause and discover the extraordinary beauty in the world around us. In his first exhibition at Serpentine, Hockney shares new paintings that celebrate the simple joy of truly looking at the everyday things we often miss.
Working closely with the artist, we are thrilled to bring his stunning 90-metre-long frieze, A Year in Normandie, to London for the very first time. Inspired by the historic Bayeux Tapestry (which arrives at the British Museum in 2026), this massive work captures the gentle shift of the seasons at Hockney’s former studio in France.
Displayed at Serpentine, it creates a wonderful connection with the natural beauty of Kensington Gardens just outside our doors.
