Cáceres Museum of Fine Arts

About

This section of the Museum of Cáceres focuses on fine arts, combining historical works with modern and contemporary pieces.

It provides valuable context for the artistic evolution of the region.

The Museum of Cáceres is housed in two historical buildings in the Old Town of Cáceres, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Palacio de Las Veletas is a building whose current appearance dates back to the works carried out in 1600 by its owner Don Lorenzo de Ulloa y Torres on a site that must have been occupied by the now-vanished Muslim Alcázar. The beautiful square courtyard supported by eight Tuscan columns dates from that intervention.
