Art Basel is not a single exhibition — it is a full ecosystem of modern and contemporary art.
The Basel edition brings together over 200 leading galleries and works by more than 4,000 artists, with a daily program of talks, exhibitions, institutional events, and city-wide cultural activity across Basel and the surrounding region.
You’ll see blue-chip modern masters, major contemporary names, emerging artists, monumental installations, solo presentations, curated sectors, photography, sculpture, painting, film, digital work, and large-scale projects that often feel closer to a temporary museum than a commercial fair.
Galleries is the main sector, where Modern masters appear next to major contemporary artists and younger talents. Art Basel also organizes the fair into different sectors, each with its own focus — from monumental works to solo presentations by emerging artists.
Unlimited is usually one of the most important Art Basel experiences: large-scale works that could not fit inside a normal gallery booth — installations, videos, environments, and ambitious pieces that need space.
