A mirrored chamber of light and repetition brings Kusama’s infinite universe to Turin for a tightly timed, immersive encounter.
Don’t spend the whole visit trying to photograph it. Give yourself at least a few seconds without the phone: Kusama’s mirrored rooms work best when your own body feels lost inside the repetition.
Inside the exhibition
Infinity Mirrored Room – The Eternally Infinite Light of the Universe Illuminating the Quest for Truth is presented at OGR Torino in Turin, Italy, from 31 October 2026 to 28 February 2027. The installation is shown in Binario 1 and features Kusama’s 2020 mirrored environment, where light, reflections and repeated points create the sensation of a space expanding beyond its physical limits.
Kusama has worked across painting, sculpture, performance, video and installation, but her Infinity Mirror Rooms have become one of the most recognisable ways to experience her ideas directly. Here, repetition is not just decorative. It relates to her long-standing concept of self-obliteration, where the boundary between body, object and environment begins to disappear.
At OGR Torino, the work forms part of The Quantum Effect, a project about quantum theory, contemporary visual culture and new ways of perceiving reality. That context gives the installation a sharper frame: Kusama’s infinity is not only spectacular, but also a way of questioning how space, perception and the viewer are connected.
