Inside the exhibition
Between Then and Now
Meet Igshaan Adams (b. 1982, Cape Town), an artist whose work beautifully weaves together textiles, sculpture, and performance into rich, layered displays. His fascination with weaving started at home, inspired by the simple, handmade baskets his family collected throughout his childhood.
Igshaan’s creative process is deeply personal and intuitive. He famously chose to skip formal training so he could explore his craft with a sense of wonder and discovery, explaining: “I deliberately avoided getting weaving training so as not to know, and to operate from that not-knowing.”
